Aikido for Seniors
Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art that emphasizes co-operation and harmony as a way to peace. The class will emphasize balance, focus, and being aware of one’s position in space. Traditional rolling and falling will not be required, but one must be able to get up and down from the ground. Mondays from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Ojai Creates sells a Faber-Castell 6 pencil set (2H,HB,2B,4B,6B) and soft covered Fabriano journals of various sizes, for under $25. Help of Ojai will provide basic pencils if needed.

Taking Medications Well will be hosted by Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association for Ojai residents and their families, on Thursday, March 27th from 2:30pm-4:00pm. Legal Information for Elders (L.I.F.E.) is a workshop presented by the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging in partnership with Grey Law. This presentation is designed for people 60 and older who are in need of legal assistance. The class covers legal needs, grandchildren and legal relationships, elders at risk, legal documents for elders, resolving housing disputes, communication, when to use the court system, and community resources. AARP Tax-Aid Appointments
If you are a senior or have low to moderate income and do not have rental property or greater than $10,000 in self-employment expenses, you can meet with one of the trained tax volunteers to file your tax returns. You will need to bring all information pertaining to your 2024 income (W-2’s and 1099 forms), I.D., Social Security card, a copy of last year’s income tax filing, and amounts/dates of estimated tax payments. Aikido for Seniors
Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art that emphasizes co-operation and harmony as a way to peace. The class will emphasize balance, focus, and being aware of one’s position in space. Traditional rolling and falling will not be required, but one must be able to get up and down from the ground. Mondays from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Aikido is open to Ojai residents who are 55 years or older. Please call to reserve a spot. Space limited to 12 people per class.

This streamed chair workout class, designed by local physical therapist Dr. Kathy Doubleday, is aimed at bettering participants health by lowering instances of chronic conditions caused by aging such as osteoporosis, balance issues, and hypertension. Drop ins are welcome!

Yoga at HELP of Ojai is a 6-week series being held on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 1:30pm-2:45pm from February 26th until April 3rd. The class is taught by certified Yoga instructors. AARP Tax-Aid Appointments
If you are a senior or have low to moderate income and do not have rental property or greater than $10,000 in self-employment expenses, you can meet with one of the trained tax volunteers to file your tax returns. You will need to bring all information pertaining to your 2024 income (W-2’s and 1099 forms), I.D., Social Security card, a copy of last year’s income tax filing, and amounts/dates of estimated tax payments.
