Legal Info For Elders (L.I.F.E.)
Legal Information for Elders (L.I.F.E.) is a workshop presented by the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging in partnership with Grey Law. This presentation is designed for people 60 and older who are in need of legal assistance. The class covers legal needs, grandchildren and legal relationships, elders at risk, legal documents for elders, resolving housing disputes, communication, when to use the court system, and community resources. Dance-Movement Therapy is a mind/body approach to mental health that uniquely addresses the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of the participants by providing a safe and supportive environment for all to dance and express their feelings through movement. The group is designed for women who can stand comfortably and be able to do basic movement sequences such as walking, stretching side to side, and holding arms above the head. Seated participants with upper body mobility are welcome as well. This group will be led by registered dance movement therapist Kim Hoj (R-DMT, MA, MEd.). No experience necessary. You must pre-register for the class and be able to attend most sessions of the class. This is a 6-week series being held on Friday’s from 9:00am-10:15am from June 13th until July 25th (break on July 4th). The cost is $60.00 for the 6-week series. Space limited to 10 people.

Dance Movement Therapy
Dance-Movement Therapy is a mind/body approach to mental health that uniquely addresses the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of the participants by providing a safe and supportive environment for all to dance and express their feelings through movement. The group is designed for women who can stand comfortably and be able to do basic movement sequences such as walking, stretching side to side, and holding arms above the head. Seated participants with upper body mobility are welcome as well. This group will be led by registered dance movement therapist Kim Hoj (R-DMT, MA, MEd.). No experience necessary. You must pre-register for the class and be able to attend most sessions of the class. This is a 6-week series being held on Friday’s from 9:00am-10:15am from June 13th until July 25th (break on July 4th). The cost is $60.00 for the 6-week series. Space limited to 10 people.

Physio-Ed is held on Fridays 10:00am-11:00am. The following dates will be held from 10:30-11:30: 6/13, 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25. Half of this chair workout class is facilitated and half is video streamed. Designed by local physical therapist Dr. Kathy Doubleday, the class is aimed at bettering participants’ health by lowering instances of chronic conditions caused by aging, such as osteoporosis, balance issues, and hypertension.

Resources for the Road is a call to gather our collective energies and attention in ways that support and sustain us as we step into the challenges of change in our lives and in our world. Taking Medications Well will be hosted by Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association for Ojai residents and their families, on Thursday, March 27th from 2:30pm-4:00pm. Through this case study presentation, we will focus on a specific individual experiencing challenges with medication adherence, highlighting their medical history, reasons for non-compliance, interventions implemented to improve adherence, and the resulting positive outcomes achieved through patient education and support strategies.
